Intel Plunges 22% After Earnings — Time to Buy the Dip?

249496
Intel shares plunged 22% after earnings as fourth-quarter guidance fell well short of expectations: revenue of $15–16 billion versus the $17 billion expected, and adjusted EPS of just 25 cents versus the 43–45 cents expected. An explosion at its Israel plant in October disrupted production, and the CFO estimates the incident will cut fourth-quarter revenue by $300 million and lower gross margin by 200 basis points. Third-quarter revenue was $16.5 billion, up 21% year over year, with PC chip revenue down 5% and data center revenue up 78%. Intel expects the PC slump to last at least through the first half of 2027, putting pressure on Dell Technologies, HP and Super Micro Computer, and the CEO acknowledged that limited AI chip supply is holding back results. With so many conflicting signals, do you think Intel is worth buying now? Is there still an entry point for Dell, HP and Super Micro?
