Bitget Protection Fund Reports $346M Average Valuation Through June Market Volatility

Victoria, Seychelles, July 08, 2026 — Bitget, the world's largest Universal Exchange (UEX), has released its latest Protection Fund report, showing an average valuation of $346.5 million in June 2026 despite a broad correction across digital asset markets.
The Protection Fund reached a monthly high of $392.3 million on June 1 and recorded a monthly low of $322.2 million on June 30 as Bitcoin declined from $71,329 to $58,573 over the course of the month. Throughout June, the fund maintained a reserve above its original $300 million commitment, reflecting the direct relationship between its BTC-denominated holdings and broader market movements.

June saw crypto markets come under pressure as investors responded to persistent macroeconomic uncertainty, shifting expectations around global monetary policy, and continued weakness across risk assets. Bitcoin traded lower through much of the month, contributing to a decline in the U.S. dollar valuation of BTC-denominated reserves. Despite these conditions, Bitget's Protection Fund maintained an average valuation of approximately 15% above its initial $300 million allocation.
Established in 2022, the Protection Fund serves as an additional layer of protection designed to safeguard user assets during extreme market events. The fund's valuation is published transparently and updated regularly, providing users with visibility into available reserves under changing market conditions.
“Market cycles will always test the resilience of the industry, but they should never compromise user confidence,” said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. “Maintaining a transparent Protection Fund through changing market conditions reflects our long-term approach to safeguarding users. Trust is built through consistency, especially when markets are under pressure.”
The Protection Fund operates alongside Bitget's Proof of Reserves (PoR), which maintains reserves exceeding user assets across major holdings. Together, these measures form part of the exchange's broader security architecture, combining verifiable asset backing with an additional reserve pool designed to support users during unexpected incidents.
The latest update comes as Bitget continues expanding its Universal Exchange ecosystem across crypto assets, tokenized stocks, commodities, and other financial markets. As users increasingly trade across multiple asset classes within a single platform, maintaining visible and independently verifiable safeguards remains a core component of the exchange's risk management framework.
