04:15 AM EDT, 09/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Corteva (CTVA) on Monday rejected efforts by a group of state attorneys general to block its planned corporate separation into two publicly traded companies, calling allegations that the transaction could leave it unable to meet potential PFAS liabilities speculative and unproven. The planned separation will create two independent companies, a crop protection company and a seed company, named Corteva and Vylor, respectively. Corteva said that no state has a judgment or even a scheduled trial against it related to PFAS and noted it has never manufactured or sold PFOA or PFOS products, two chemicals within the PFAS group. The company added that its balance sheet will be equipped to handle any potential liabilities. Corteva Chief Legal Officer Jennifer Johnson said the separation reflects differences between the two businesses and that the company intends to defend the transaction against the states' challenge.
