The National Bureau of Statistics has released the “Fifteenth Five-Year Plan” for statistical reform and development. The plan proposes improvements to price statistics, including enhancing the statistical survey of industrial producer prices, optimizing the base period rotation of the Producer Price Index (PPI), and advancing the compilation of PPI based on stages of the production flow. Goods and services reflecting new consumer trends and business models will be promptly included in the statistical survey of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), and the rotation cycle of the CPI base period will be shortened. The system of Service Producer Price Indexes will be improved, with industry-specific and phased research as well as pilot compilation of indexes. (National Bureau of Statistics).
