03:22 AM EDT, 09/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- SK Hynix (SKHY) is exploring a deal with Intel (INTC) to manufacture its memory chips in the US for the first time, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing three unnamed people familiar with the discussions. The South Korean semiconductor company could potentially lease part of Intel's long-planned chipmaking facility in Ohio or form a venture with Intel and major cloud firms interested in securing memory chip supplies, the media outlet added. "While the company is reviewing various measures, including establishing additional production bases, to strengthen the competitiveness of its memory business, no matters have been determined at this stage," a spokesperson for SK Hynix told MT Newswires in an emailed response.
