02:33 PM EDT, 09/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com (AMZN) will expand and accelerate refunds to consumers under a revised order tied to its $2.5 billion settlement with the US Federal Trade Commission, the FTC said Thursday. The maximum refund will increase to $200 from $51, and as of September, Amazon has issued more than $845 million in consumer redress, the FTC said. Starting Oct. 1, millions of additional consumers who used 11 to 20 Prime benefits during a one-year period will become eligible for automatic refunds, the regulator said. Consumers who previously received refunds could receive an additional $149, bringing their total payment to $200. Those payments are expected to begin by April 2027, the FTC said.
