The US Dollar Index, which measures the dollar against a basket of six major currencies, closed at 100.248 in the late trading session of the foreign exchange market. By the close of the New York forex session, 1 euro was exchanged for 1.1475 US dollars, higher than the previous trading day's 1.1470 US dollars; 1 pound was exchanged for 1.3353 US dollars, lower than the previous trading day's 1.3382 US dollars. 1 US dollar was exchanged for 156.04 Japanese yen, higher than the previous trading day's 155.92 yen; 1 US dollar for 0.8248 Swiss franc, lower than the previous trading day's 0.8250 franc; 1 US dollar for 1.3992 Canadian dollars, lower than the previous trading day's 1.3994 Canadian dollars; 1 US dollar for 9.8256 Swedish krona, lower than the previous trading day's 9.8598 krona.
