According to Golden Ten Data, three sources familiar with the matter revealed that Solidigm, a subsidiary of South Korean memory chip giant SK Hynix (SKHY.US), is considering building a NAND flash chip factory in the United States, with the upstate New York area as the main candidate location. This move comes as the Trump administration continues to pressure South Korean chipmakers to expand manufacturing in the US, while massive investments in AI data centers are tightening the global supply of memory chips.
