05:21 AM EDT, 09/18/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Braskem (BAK) creditors are resisting the Brazilian petrochemicals company's latest restructuring plan, piling up pressure on Petrobras (PBR) to commit new capital into the business, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter. Petrobras and fellow Braskem controller IG4 Capital Group recently eased the language around a capital injection, increasing tensions in negotiations to rework an $11 billion debt pile, the unnamed sources told the news outlet. Under Braskem's latest proposal, creditors would provide roughly $2 billion of new money, Bloomberg reported, citing some of the people. Braskem didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
