Reuters, October 5 - New Fortress Energy (NFE.O) announced on Monday that its Fast LNG plant has halted production due to a mechanical failure in a gas turbine, causing the company’s stock price to plummet by 14%, reaching an all-time low. This shutdown comes at a time when liquefied natural gas prices are rising, disrupting the production plans of the Fast LNG plant. Since the beginning of this year, the facility has exported one shipment of liquefied natural gas to Puerto Rico every month to help this U.S. territory address electricity supply challenges.
