Analysts: Trump's new tariff remarks and upcoming holidays trigger a new round of dollar selling
analysts said the Trump tariff turmoil is back, triggering a sell-off of the US dollar. In addition, the decline in US Treasury bonds and global yields also dragged down the US dollar. After Trump threatened to impose tariffs on Apple and then mentioned imposing tariffs on the European Union starting from June 1, safe-haven assets collectively rose as demand for safe-haven assets quickly heated up under the new tariff threats. Analysts said that Trump's tariff threats against the European Union have awakened bearish views on the euro against the US dollar. In addition, US dollar shorts are likely to further strengthen on Friday.
