The liquidity structure therefore leans strongly to the upside, with roughly three times more cumulative liquidity sitting above the market. 📉 Below the market, nearby long-liquidation liquidity is concentrated around 4,451–4,423 before becoming denser across 4,395–4,362. The strongest nearby downside cluster sits around 4,395, while additional liquidity remains deeper around 4,295–4,267. Losing 4,451 would increase the probability of a sweep toward 4,423–4,395. 📈 Above the market, short-liquidation liquidity begins building sharply from 4,474 and becomes much denser across 4,488–4,502, where the largest nearby liquidation bar appears. Further out, liquidity accumulates heavily around 4,659–4,715, particularly across 4,687–4,715. Gold has already made a strong move this week, reaching $4,696.18 on Tuesday before pulling back. That move happened alongside the U.S. Treasury’s support measures for longer-duration bonds. Now, today’s Fed event adds another layer to the market. Kevin Warsh is scheduled to deliver the keynote at the 2026 Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium today, Friday, August 28, in his first Jackson Hole keynote as Fed chair. Markets are watching closely for more clarity on his view of inflation, the economy, bond-market volatility and the Fed’s policy approach, especially after the recent moves in the bond market. U.S. PCE inflation is still elevated at 3.7% year over year through July, while rate expectations have shifted, with markets pricing roughly a one-third chance of a September hike and around three-quarters by December. These developments are happening alongside gold’s recovery, but they do not have to define the direction of the chart. The technical picture remains constructive. Gold fell from its yearly high near $5,469 in March, eventually finding a floor around $3,942 after the weakness through June and July. Since the early-August low, however, price has been building higher lows and recovering through $4,250 and $4,500 before returning to the $4,600 area. The levels around price are now especially important. The one-hour chart shows resistance at $4,572.60 and support at $4,559.77, while the four-hour chart has resistance at $4,603.49 with the same support area. On the daily chart, resistance sits at $4,678.11 and support around $4,560.05. That leaves $4,560 as the main floor and $4,678 as the bigger test. Gold has already reached $4,678.11, but another wick into that area is not the same as a confirmed breakout. A clean break followed by a hold would give the recovery much more room to continue, with $4,750 then becoming the next major level and $5,000 the larger psychological target. If $4,678 continues to reject price and gold falls back below $4,560, the recovery could enter another consolidation phase. The next references would be $4,434.36 and $4,250, with $3,990.62 and the $3,942 low becoming important if the decline gets deeper. For today, I would keep the setup simple. Holding $4,560 keeps the recovery structure intact, while a break above $4,678 would strengthen the bullish case. If price stays between those levels, the market is still in a range. Warsh’s speech could bring volatility around these levels, but the chart still gives the clearest framework for what would confirm or invalidate the next move. $XAUT
