Ethereum core developer Tim Beiko summarized the latest ACDE meeting. Goerli Fork: Due to the open validator set and less than ideal PoS operation on the testnet, expected validator participation has decreased. As more validators come online, the network eventually achieved finalization.

A bug was found in the Prysm network where every 256 epochs saved Historical Root value was mistakenly set to 0. After discovering this bug, a fix was quickly released.

Regarding issues of testing L2 on Goerli: Arbitrum stated that it is difficult to test on Goerli as most of their infrastructure is on Sepolia. Meanwhile, Optimism plans to switch to Goerli if everything goes smoothly after several weeks of devnet testing. Next week's RollCall meeting will focus on preparations for L2's 4844 work. In previous news, the Goerli testnet will undergo Cancun upgrade on January 17th while upgrades for Sepolia and Holesky testnets are scheduled for January 30th and February 7th respectively.
