A whale 'cuts the meat' of a $3290 cost position of 14,387 ETH, losing $12.55 million
On 8 August, a whale liquidated its holdings of 14,387 ETH ($34.78 million) in the last three days for a loss of $12.55 million, according to chain analyst Aftermath Monitor. The whale raised 14,384 ETH ($47.33 million) from cex at an average price of $3,290 between 22 June and 4 August and deposited it in a Lido pledge. Following the market crash on 5 August, which may have caused him to lose confidence, the whale redeemed ETH from Lido and transferred it back to cex in batches starting in the evening of 5 August, with the last 5,000 ETH being transferred to cex an hour earlier.
