DATA: More Than 600 Bitcoin ATM Worldwide Went Offline in the Last Two Months

More than 600 Bitcoin ATMs went offline globally in the first two months of the third quarter of 2024, with the largest number of U.S. ATMs going offline, either because law enforcement is aggressively seeking out and shutting down Bitcoin ATMs, which are often involved in extortion and fraud, Cointelegraph reported. According to Coin ATM Radar, the global Bitcoin ATM network lost 435 and 182 units in July and August, respectively. The U.S. saw 411 and 258 ATMs go offline during that time.
