U.S. prosecutors rebut FTX executive Ryan Salame's charges: prosecution of his partner fair
U.S. federal prosecutors have rebutted allegations against FTX executive Ryan Salame, saying they did not renege on the terms of a plea agreement with the former FTX executive - namely that they would cease a criminal investigation of Salame's longtime partner and mother of his children, Michelle Bond. Prosecutors say they never made any such promises to Ryan Salame, either formally or informally, and that their case against Michelle Bond is fair.
In a scathing 32-page memorandum filed Thursday, prosecutors urged U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan of the Southern District of New York to reject Salame's recent request to enforce the terms of his plea agreement or to dismiss his guilty plea and vacate his sentence, calling it a “brazen and self-serving attempt to renege on his plea and conviction”. ...... and undermine the lawful prosecution of Michelle Bond.”
The hearing in question is set for September 12, 2024, according to the report.
