Private equity firm Thoma Bravo, which once invested in FTX, will permanently exit the cryptocurrency market

On September 9th, Orlando Bravo, the head of Thoma Bravo, a private equity firm managing about $160 billion in assets, stated in an interview with CNBC that the company will permanently exit the cryptocurrency market. This decision stems from its failed investment in FTX. Thoma Bravo had participated in a $900 million investment in FTX in 2021. After FTX collapsed, Thoma Bravo and other investors faced huge losses and were involved in a lawsuit accusing them of making misleading statements when promoting FTX.
