US 30-year mortgage rates fall to lowest level since October
U.S. mortgage rates fell for a second straight week. Freddie Mac said on Thursday that the average level of 30-year fixed-rate mortgages in the U.S. was 6.69 per cent, the lowest level since October 24 and a further drop from last week's 6.81 per cent. However, borrowing costs remain well above September levels and may be far from real pressure relief. Real estate firm Redfin expects 30-year mortgage rates to remain fairly close to 7 per cent throughout 2025.
