Cardano Valentine hard fork celebrates its second anniversary, and cross-chain interoperability upgrades help expand the ecosystem

Recently, Cardano officially announced that the Cardano Valentine hard fork has celebrated its second anniversary and completed related upgrades. This upgrade significantly enhances Cardano's cross-chain interoperability with other blockchains (such as Bitcoin and Ethereum) by introducing ECDSA and Schnorr signatures to support the SECP256k1 curve in the Plutus script, enabling developers to build decentralized applications that securely verify multi-chain transactions.

 

The Cardano community review stated that the Valentine hard fork laid the technical foundation for on-chain asset bridging and cross-chain DApp development. In the past two years, it has promoted projects such as AnetaBTC and Indigo Protocol within the ecosystem to achieve multi-chain asset interaction. The Cardano Foundation emphasized that this upgrade is a key step in its long-term vision of "building an interconnected blockchain ecosystem", and will continue to optimize the underlying protocol to support more complex cross-chain use cases in the future.
