ARK Invest Sees Bitcoin Hitting $1.5M By 2030 On Rising Institutional Demand
ARK expects institutions to allocate up to 6.5% to Bitcoin and sees it capturing 60% of gold’s market value in its bullish scenario.
Bitcoin could hit $1.5m by the end of this decade, according to ARK Invest, which laid out its bull case in the latest Big Ideas 2025 report released Thursday.
The investment firm’s base case pegs Bitcoin at $710,000, while its bear case still forecasts a sizeable increase to $300,000.
The investment firm attributes its projections to multiple accelerating trends, including rising institutional allocation, adoption of Bitcoin as a store of value, demand from emerging markets, and the growth of on-chain financial services. The report also points to a growing appetite among nation-states and corporations to add Bitcoin to their reserves.
Bitcoin Could Capture 60% of Gold’s Market Cap by 2030: Ark
At the time of the report’s release, Bitcoin traded around $93,958, having recently recovered from a period of market volatility. ARK’s most optimistic scenario implies a nearly 15-fold increase from current levels, driven by what it sees as a structural transformation in global finance.
The firm expects institutional investors to allocate up to 6.5% of their portfolios to Bitcoin in the most bullish scenario, with 2.5% as the base case. It also believes Bitcoin could eventually command 60% of gold’s current market value, reinforcing its digital gold thesis.

Bitcoin Could Hit $2.4M With Emerging Market and Treasury Adoption: ARK
Emerging markets are another key focus. ARK estimates that Bitcoin could capture up to 6% of the monetary base in such economies, where inflation and currency instability continue to erode trust in traditional financial systems. It also sees meaningful upside from increased use by corporations and governments, which could allocate up to 10% and 7% of their reserves, respectively.
The report further points to the expansion of Bitcoin’s utility beyond storage, particularly through Layer 2 networks, restaking protocols and tokenized assets. These developments are expected to contribute to a 60% annual growth rate in on-chain financial services.
While ARK’s official bull case targets $1.5m per Bitcoin by 2030, the firm also introduces a refined model that adjusts for dormant or lost supply. Under this adjusted supply scenario, the bull case price could climb as high as $2.4m, reflecting Bitcoin’s extreme scarcity and accelerating institutional demand.
The report stops short of calling Bitcoin a guaranteed winner but positions it as a leading asset in a maturing digital monetary system that continues to gain mainstream traction.

100 Million Barrels Shrinkage? Reports Say EU Believes Oil Reserve Release Plan Mainly Fulfills Previous Commitments, Not New Quotas
Last Friday, G7 member countries agreed to release up to 100 million barrels of crude oil and diesel reserves. The IEA had announced a plan to release 400 million barrels in March, and as of last Friday, about 75 million barrels had yet to be released. Most EU member states believe that this action is simply fulfilling previous commitments rather than adding new releases. Regarding the earlier-than-scheduled release of diesel stocks emphasized in last week's G7 agreement, EU member states consider it feasible, but on a limited scale.
