Haedal is a native Liquid Staking Derivatives (LSD) protocol built on the Sui Network, designed to offer users a secure and efficient staking experience while unlocking liquidity. Users can stake SUI or Walrus tokens via the Haedal platform, which algorithmically delegates assets to the highest-yielding validators, ensuring optimal consensus rewards. In return, users receive liquid staking tokens — haSUI or haWAL — that can be utilized across DeFi protocols.

Unlike traditional LSD models, Haedal goes a step further with its innovative Hae3 product suite, which leverages trading income to enhance returns. This suite includes:

Haedal Market Maker (HMM): A MEV-resistant market-making system using oracle-based pricing.
haeVault: An automated liquidity management module that simulates CEX strategies and rebalances LP positions.
haeDAO: A decentralized governance mechanism powered by community voting and treasury allocation.

This structure connects staked assets with transaction fee revenues on the Sui network, boosting haSUI's APR and overall capital efficiency.

As of now, haSUI offers a 3.5% APR, significantly outperforming other Sui LSD platforms, positioning Haedal as a potential foundational yield infrastructure within the Sui DeFi ecosystem.

II. Project Highlights

1. Dynamic Validator Optimization for Higher Base APR Haedal doesn't delegate to fixed validators. Instead, it dynamically selects validators with the highest net APR using protocol-level algorithms, avoiding losses due to high commission or underperforming nodes. Real-world results show a stable base APR of ~3.5%, outperforming Sui’s average staking yield.

2. Dual Yield Model via Trading Fee Integration Beyond staking rewards, Haedal captures trading fee revenue through HMM and haeVault. This dual-income design — “staking + trading” — makes haSUI a highly capital-efficient asset, enabling users to earn multiple yields with a single token.

3. MEV-Resistant Design for Secure Liquidity Haedal’s HMM module uses real-time oracle pricing instead of pool-based quotes, eliminating front-running and sandwich attacks at the root. This improves both trade execution and LP reward stability, fostering a healthier DeFi trading environment.

III. Market Valuation Outlook

The $HAEDAL token serves as the core asset of the Haedal ecosystem. Beyond its roles in incentives and governance, it anchors the protocol’s value in the Sui LSD narrative. IV. Tokenomics

Total Supply: 1,000,000,000 $HAEDAL

Token Allocation:

55% Ecosystem Incentives: For rewarding adoption of Haedal and its LSTs within the Sui ecosystem.
10% Liquidity Fund: To support both initial and ongoing CEX/DEX liquidity provisioning.
15% Investors: 6-month lock-up, followed by 12-month linear vesting.
20% Team Advisors: 12-month lock-up, followed by 24-month linear vesting.

veHAEDAL (Voting Escrow Model) Haedal uses a ve-model for staking and governance. Users can lock $HAEDAL for 1 to 52 weeks to receive veHAEDAL, which provides:

Weekly staking rewards
Yield boosts in modules like haeVault
Voting rights in haeDAO governance
Eligibility for future airdrops or exclusive benefits

The longer the lock period, the greater the benefits: 52 weeks = 1 $HAEDAL = 1 veHAEDAL veHAEDAL decays linearly and resets to zero upon unlock.

V. Team Funding

Team: Led by co-founder Luke Shi, the Haedal team has extensive experience in blockchain infrastructure, validator operations, LSD protocol design, and on-chain yield engineering. The project remains committed to building natively on Sui, emphasizing localization, sustainable yield structures, and tight ecosystem integration.

Funding: In January 2024, Haedal completed a seed funding round (amount and valuation undisclosed). The round included high-profile investors such as Hashed, OKX Ventures, Animoca Brands, Sui Foundation, Comma3 Ventures, Flow Traders, Dewhales Capital, as well as notable Sui ecosystem projects Cetus and Scallop.

VI. Risk Factors

Sustainability of Returns: The current 3.5% APR includes ~1% from internal trading and incentive strategies (e.g., HMM). As TVL grows, market-making space may tighten, and fees could dilute. Without consistent DEX trading income or impermanent loss hedging, returns may decline.
Sui Ecosystem Maturity: While Sui has seen increased activity, its DeFi scale and institutional engagement remain lower than major chains like Ethereum and Solana. The LSD use cases on Sui are still early-stage, potentially capping haSUI demand growth in the short term.
