Analysis: The US SEC May Intervene to Investigate Potential Violations in pump.fun’s Operations
According to Jinse Finance, the official X accounts of Solana ecosystem meme coin launch platform pump.fun, its founder Alon Cohen, and several other meme coin-related accounts have been deactivated. This has sparked widespread speculation within the crypto community, including concerns that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission may intervene to investigate potential illegal activities in pump.fun’s operations. However, as of now, the main pump.fun platform remains operational. In January of this year, pump.fun faced a class-action lawsuit accusing it of offering and selling “high-volatility” unregistered securities products to investors and collecting nearly $500 million in fees.
