The new foundation aims to step in where the Ethereum Foundation (EF) cannot, with a direct focus on raising the price of ETH, aiming for a target of US$10 per unit. On its official website, the ECF states that “the price of ETH has been ignored for too long” and that its mission is to “increase its value through education, funding, outreach and ecosystem support”.
Cole said that ETH’s growth is not just a speculative goal, but a core component of the network’s viability. According to him, the token’s appreciation contributes to the security of validators and to strengthening Ethereum’s capacity as a global settlement infrastructure. “ETH to 10k is not a meme. It is a requirement, a benchmark, a mandate,” he said.
To achieve this goal, the ECF intends to fund initiatives that improve Ethereum’s infrastructure, support collaborations with institutions and governments, and prioritize actions that reduce the issuance of new tokens. The proposal is to generate a sustainable appreciation cycle, with a focus on institutional use and ecosystem liquidity.
The emergence of the ECF comes amid recent criticism of the Ethereum Foundation’s actions, especially after the ETH sale carried out earlier this year. The decision was seen by part of the community as a possible factor in price pressure. In response, the EF revamped its leadership team and began adopting less impactful strategies, such as lending ETH via platforms like Aave to guarantee liquidity in stablecoins, avoiding further sales.
The newly launched foundation now seeks to fill this gap by adopting a more assertive stance on the price of ETH, arguing that market value plays a direct role in maintaining the security, liquidity and relevance of the network.

The US market narrative undergoes a "dramatic reversal": shifting from "AI-driven deflation and controllable US debt" to "AI squeezing the bond market, and Bassen unable to control long-term interest rates"
Deutsche Bank points out that the market narrative regarding the U.S. economy has shifted from "AI drives down inflation" to "AI-related bond issuance pushes up U.S. Treasury yields," but pessimism may be overdone. The bank believes that the real risks underestimated by the market are security incidents in the AI ecosystem, failed IPOs, or underwhelming revenues, which could undermine the dollar and support the bond market. In addition, France's fiscal difficulties are putting new pressure on the euro.
