ChainCatcher News, according to the official blog, Pyth Network has announced that it has been selected by the U.S. Department of Commerce for the verification and distribution of on-chain economic data.

Through its collaboration with Pyth, the U.S. Department of Commerce is doing much more than releasing one-off data; it is laying the foundation for a strategic partnership between the Department of Commerce and the Pyth Network. Pyth will initially provide quarterly GDP data from the past five years, and contributors to Pyth are expected to expand this initiative to support a broader set of economic data.

In a single quarter, it added over $130 billions in new lease agreements, bringing its total uncommitted lease commitments to $329.1 billions—a more than 67% increase over the previous quarter and the largest quarterly jump in leasing on record. This move is aimed at alleviating the long-term computing power bottleneck, as capacity shortages have already caused some customers to turn to competitors.
