The unlocking process will be conducted in two stages. The initial share of locked tokens will be available for claim at 8:1 AM ET on September 80st. The remaining portion will be subject to future governance votes, allowing holders to decide the pace of market release.
Between August 25th and 31st, investors were invited to activate their Lockbox accounts to participate in the initial unlocking. The feature, already available, offers transparency and control throughout the process. To enhance security, the contract was audited by Cyfrin, a company specializing in Web3 security, ensuring the integrity of the funds.
The market, in turn, reacts with anticipation. Before the event, WLFI was trading around $0,297, while IOU prices—representations of the token on secondary markets—reached as high as $0,56, signaling strong speculative demand. Analysts point out that initial volatility may be high, with some investors quickly taking profits.
Still, the community-driven unlocking model and the emphasis on auditing and security are seen as elements that could help balance the supply. The event puts WLFI in the spotlight, solidifying it as one of the most watched digital assets in early September.
