Solana (SOL) saw its value decrease by 4.89% over the past day, falling to $150, as the overall market remained turbulent. Despite this short-term drop, recent actions by major players in the
SOL Strategies Inc. (NASDAQ: STKE), a public company dedicated to the Solana network, announced notable achievements in October 2025. The firm used proceeds from a CAD $30 million expanded offering to purchase and stake more SOL tokens, increasing its treasury to 526,513 SOL (worth about CAD $137 million at the time of the report). Additionally, the company completed SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 audits, further strengthening its compliance standards for institutional investors.
Acting CEO Michael Hubbard highlighted the significance of these accomplishments, noting that the audits and collaborations with platforms such as Netcoins and Crypto.com are vital for attracting institutional interest. The company’s validator operations produced roughly 787 SOL in September, delivering an annual yield of 6.68%—higher than the network’s average of 6.45%.
Although SOL’s price has recently dipped, market experts remain optimistic about its future. A recent
Nevertheless, the BitcoinWorld report also warns that factors like regulatory ambiguity and competition from new blockchain platforms could pose challenges. Investors are encouraged to manage risk by using strategies such as dollar-cost averaging and portfolio diversification.
SOL Global Investments Corp. (CSE: SOL) has also shifted its strategy to focus more on Solana. In December 2024, the company underwent a restructuring, moving non-Solana assets into a separate organization and clearing secured debt. This restructuring enables SOL Global to direct its efforts toward growing its Solana portfolio and advancing blockchain projects, as outlined in SOL Global's
During 2025, the company secured CAD $3.6 million through a private funding round and completed a $4 million debenture sale to support additional investments. The reorganized company now owns a minority interest in a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) that remains dedicated to Solana-related ventures.
While the strategic initiatives by SOL Strategies and SOL Global reflect strong confidence in Solana’s prospects, there are still hurdles to overcome. Regulatory shifts, economic factors, and rivalry from other layer-1 blockchains could impact both short-term price movements and long-term adoption.
At present, investors are closely monitoring several indicators: the ongoing growth of SOL Strategies’ treasury, the results of executive searches, and the effectiveness of partnerships with Netcoins and Crypto.com. Ultimately, how the wider market responds to Solana’s price trends will play a key role in determining if the $500 target is achievable by 2030.

VIPAI Asset Sell-Off and Selective Rotation in Crypto
1. Technology stocks fell sharply as investor interest shifted toward energy and selected defensive assets. From October 10 to 16, the Nasdaq 100 declined 5.49% and the S&P 500 fell 1.95%, while the Dow gained 0.67% and WTI crude rose 10.41%. BTC, ETH, and SOL declined 1.27%, 2.65%, and 4.44%, respectively. This week's technology earnings will be an important test of whether revenue growth, margins, and cash flow can justify current valuations. Better-than-expected results could help stabilize markets in the near term. 2. Crypto continues to see pockets of strong activity, but a broad-based altcoin season has yet to materialize. CoinMarketCap's (CMC) Altcoin Season Index stood at 54 as of the October 18 UTC daily observation, below the altcoin-season threshold of 75, while BTC dominance rose to 60.08%. Our proxy leverage ratio fluctuated between 4.00 and 4.07 during the week, showing no sustained increase and suggesting limited appetite for additional leverage. Meanwhile, as major exchanges expand access to traditional financial assets, the recent sell-off in AI-related equities could attract short-term speculative capital away from crypto. Such capital rotation could make it more difficult for a new altcoin season to take hold. 3. Papertrade's loss-to-mine model has generated significant interest across the crypto community. The protocol combines high-leverage derivatives trading with zero slippage and a mechanism that rewards trading losses with PAPER tokens. Across the eight complete UTC days from October 10 to 17, cumulative reported revenue reached approximately $56.08 million, including $51.90 million distributed to token holders. With growing participation from key opinion leaders (KOLs), Papertrade has reportedly ranked among the top three platforms by profitability in the broader market recently. Assets to watch: BTC, ETH, SOL, ARB, OP, SKHYNIX, SKHY, META, TSLA, LRCX, and SPCX. Key research priorities this week: Cash flow performance in technology earnings; the relative discount and holding costs of the two SK Hynix contracts; and U.S. initial jobless claims and PMI data. Weekly market data cover the period through October 16, while research information was verified through October 18. Observation periods are specified separately for each chart.
