Tether launches XAUT accounting unit Scudo to simplify tokenized gold trading
Foresight News reported that Tether has announced the launch of the tokenized gold XAUT accounting unit, Scudo. Tether defines one Scudo as one-thousandth of an ounce of gold (or XAUT), allowing users to transact or price assets directly in Scudo units instead of dealing with complex XAUT decimals.
Tether stated that Scudo does not change the structure or underlying backing of XAUT. The tokenized gold XAUT remains fully backed by physical gold stored in secure vaults, and its ownership can be verified on-chain through Tether's asset tracking tool.
