Glonghui Jan 8|Google C (GOOG.US), which was selected as one of Glonghui's "Global Perspective" Top 10 Core Assets for 2026, closed up 2.51% at $322.43, with its market capitalization surpassing Apple for the first time since 2019. As of Wednesday's close, Google's market cap stood at $3.89 trillion, while Apple's was at $3.84 trillion. This reversal in market cap rankings highlights the divergence between Google and Apple in their artificial intelligence strategic directions. Google ended 2025 as one of Wall Street's best-performing tech stocks; in November, the company released its seventh-generation Tensor Processor, Ironwood, a custom AI chip expected to become an alternative to Nvidia products. In December, Google's Gemini 3 received unanimous praise from the industry. In addition, JPMorgan once again raised its shipment forecast for Google's TPU chips, expecting shipments to reach 3.7 million and 5 million units in 2026 and 2027, respectively, mainly benefiting from the continued expansion of TSMC's CoWoS packaging capacity and strong market demand.
