IG Group Concludes Search for Chair: Andrew Barron Succeeds Mike McTighe
Leadership Transition at IG Group
Following Mike McTighe’s announcement that he will retire as IG Chair in September 2025, the company revealed it had not secured a successor within the planned period. As a result, McTighe will continue in his position until a new chair is officially approved by regulators, ensuring a smooth handover. McTighe has led IG as Chair since February 2020.
Andrew Barron, who is set to take over, brings experience from the technology, media, and related sectors, rather than from the trading industry.
