Global Energy Concerns Rise Amid Middle East Conflict
The ongoing conflict in the Middle East is rapidly heightening the risk of an energy crisis in several nations worldwide. The near shutdown of a key international shipping route has already driven oil prices higher, potentially boosting demand for Canadian energy resources.
The Strait of Hormuz, which links the Persian Gulf to international waters, is responsible for transporting roughly 20% of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas.
