Golden Ten Data March 11 - According to foreign media reports, South Korea will accelerate the restart of nuclear reactors to ensure energy security in response to the ongoing war in the Middle East. The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment of South Korea issued a statement after an emergency meeting on Wednesday, stating that South Korea will seek to start two nuclear reactor units this month and another four units by mid-May. If the supply of liquefied natural gas is affected, the government will also consider operating coal-fired power plants flexibly; currently, coal-fired power plants operate on weekdays with limited hours to reduce pollution. The ministry stated that if high oil prices persist or liquefied natural gas imports are blocked, South Korea's electricity market will inevitably be affected.
