A Lido CSM node operator suffered a minor slashing, with estimated losses less than 1 ETH.
Foresight News reported that Lido DAO contributors stated a limited slashing incident occurred today involving a node operator in the Community Staking Module (CSM), affecting 6 validator indices. The initial slashing was less than 0.047 ETH (approximately $100), and the final slashing and offline penalty are expected to be less than 1 ETH, covered by the node operator's staking deposit. The protocol is operating normally, and stakers need not worry. Currently, the Lido team and the affected operator are investigating the cause. During regular operation, protocol-level daily reward fluctuations typically range from 0.3 to 2 ETH, so the overall impact of this incident on the protocol is negligible. Once the affected validators fully exit the Ethereum network, CSM will automatically trigger the event handling mechanism, deducting the difference between the validator's maximum effective balance and exit balance from the operator's available staking deposit.
