Golden Ten Data reported on April 7 that gasoline prices in Australia have retreated from record levels, as government measures have helped mitigate the impact of the Middle East war. Data from the Australian Petroleum Association shows that, in the week ending last Sunday, the national average gasoline price fell by more than 5% to 2.40 AUD per liter, marking the first decline since the first week of February. The government has implemented measures to ensure supply and reduce prices, including temporary cuts in some taxes and releasing fuel from the national reserves. In March, electric vehicle sales soared to a record market share, accounting for nearly 15% of total new car sales last month.
