After 7:00, a scene that shocked the world appeared
Source: Wall Street Intelligence Circle
A strange scene emerged one hour after the global markets opened (after 7:00 AM GMT+8):
The decline in gold and US stock futures temporarily halted, but the gains in the US dollar and crude oil further expanded. The market is no longer piling on "collapse risks" but is now focusing on "energy shocks."
The US Central Command further clarified Trump's use of the term "blockade":
The blockade will be enforced equally on all national vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. However, ships coming from non-Iranian ports can freely pass through the strait; the US will not impede the freedom of navigation for vessels traveling to and from non-Iranian ports through the Strait of Hormuz.
This is a "very clever" design—a complete blockade of the strait would be nearly tantamount to declaring war. But this version is packaged as a "sanctions escalation" rather than war. The real goal here is not military but to cut off Iran's cash flow. It does not cross the red line but gets infinitely close to it. The market still sees it as a "controllable escalation," so the trend has not spun out of control. The first minute after the opening saw "blind panic"; an hour later, it's "rational gaming."
There are three variables ahead: Will Iran retaliate? Will the US escalate further? Will the market lose patience?
The world is waiting for the first "shot fired"—as soon as an image circulates on social media of US soldiers boarding an Iranian oil tanker or a drone striking a US destroyer, even without casualties, the market’s “controllable escalation” logic could instantly collapse.
Once the first "accidental discharge" occurs, and the first "shot is fired," the market narrative will immediately shift.

Democrats achieve a landslide victory, global stock markets "plunge before rebounding," gold and silver surge—what is the market trading on?
Behind this "sharp drop followed by a rebound" in the market is a rational correction after the rapid repricing of the political landscape. Trump's veto power provides a two-way check and balance, making policy gridlock the most likely outcome, thus calming panic sentiment. However, the duration of election-driven market volatility has historically been limited; the future of the AI theme and geopolitical developments are the core variables driving the market towards the end of the year.
