Crude stockpiles dropped by 0.9 million barrels last week, according to the EIA
Weekly U.S. Crude Oil and Refinery Activity Update
For the week ending April 10, 2026, U.S. oil refineries processed an average of 16 million barrels of crude per day, marking a decrease of 208,000 barrels per day compared to the prior week. Refineries were running at 89.6% of their total capacity during this period.
Production of gasoline saw an uptick, reaching an average of 9.8 million barrels per day last week. In contrast, distillate fuel output declined, averaging 4.9 million barrels per day.
Crude oil imports into the United States averaged 5.3 million barrels per day, which is 1 million barrels per day lower than the previous week. Looking at the past month, average crude imports stood at approximately 6.1 million barrels per day.
