  1. The Export Development Canada (EDC) Spring Outlook Report made a significant quantitative forecast: after the average annual gold price records $3,435 per ounce in 2025, strong safe-haven demand will continue to push gold prices higher in 2026, with the average annual price expected to approach $4,990 per ounce.
  2. The institution clearly anticipates that gold prices will reach the peak of this cycle in 2026; thereafter, as uncertainty gradually subsides and high prices naturally suppress physical demand, the average annual price in 2027 is projected to progressively fall back to around $4,689 per ounce.
  3. The structural shift in gold's role constitutes the core of the long-term narrative. The report points out that, over time, jewelry demand will gradually regain its historical status as the main source of traditional gold demand, while the investment-driven price volatility that currently dominates pricing is expected to diminish significantly.
  4. At present, support for high gold prices is still firmly anchored in strong system-wide safe-haven demand triggered by geopolitical conflicts, yet as the $5,000 psychological threshold approaches, the market is intensifying its calculations on the tipping point for the negative feedback effect of high prices.
