US tariff reimbursements are on the way: Find out who will receive them before others
Tariff Refunds Set to Begin Soon
Refunds for tariffs are expected to start reaching bank accounts shortly, as the U.S. government plans to begin handling refund applications on Monday. This process follows nearly two months of preparation after the Supreme Court largely overturned former President Donald Trump's tariffs in a decision issued on February 20. In a 6-3 vote, the justices determined that Trump had overstepped his legal authority by invoking the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 to impose most of the tariffs. In response, the president has introduced a new 10% tariff on imports worldwide. According to statements from the administration on Tuesday, tariff rates could return to previous levels by early July.
