Tesla: Preparing to build the first large-scale factory for mass-producing Optimus robots in the second quarter

Glonghui, April 23 - Tesla disclosed progress on its robotics business in its Q1 2026 financial report. Preparations for Tesla’s first large-scale Optimus factory will begin in early Q2, with the first-generation production line designed for an annual capacity of 1 million robots, set to replace the Model S and Model X production lines at the Fremont factory. Tesla is also preparing the Texas Gigafactory for the second-generation production line, which has a long-term designed annual capacity of 10 million robots.
