```htmlGolden Ten Data reported on April 27 that ING analysts Ruben Dewit and Peter Vanden Houte stated in a report that potential growth in the eurozone appears set to slow due to suppressed productivity. The two analysts said, "Unless productivity in the eurozone suddenly accelerates, potential GDP growth is likely to drop below 1%." They pointed out that productivity has been a major driver of growth in the United States, but remains weak in Europe. Italy and Germany even experienced negative productivity growth between 2024 and 2025. Expanding the workforce could be a key driver, as illustrated by the increase in immigration in Spain. However, they noted that due to political resistance, this is unlikely to become a model for other regions in Europe. Revitalizing productivity requires ambitious structural policies, but progress is expected to be very slow.```
