Bitcoin mining company MARA to acquire Long Ridge Energy for $1.5 billion
Foresight News reported, according to Reuters, that Bitcoin mining company MARA Holdings (certain exchange) will acquire natural gas plant operator Long Ridge Energy & Power from FTAI Infrastructure (certain exchange) for $1.5 billion (including debt). This is an important step in the miner's effort to transform into a digital infrastructure and energy company. The acquisition is expected to be completed later in 2026, depending on approval from regulatory authorities including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
The company stated that the $1.5 billion deal includes assuming approximately $785 million in existing debt, while Long Ridge's power assets can generate about $144 million in adjusted annual earnings.
