Golden Ten Data reported on May 2 that preliminary ship tracking data from LSEG shows a significant surge in U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports to Asia in April. As conflicts in the Middle East have led to restricted production in the region, American producers have effectively filled the supply gap left by reduced Middle Eastern exports. Nearly a quarter of the total U.S. LNG exports for the month went to Asia. Data shows that, since the U.S. and Israel launched strikes against Iran, U.S. LNG shipments to Asia have increased by more than 175%. Specifically, the export volume rose from approximately 970,000 tons in February to 1.99 million tons in March, and further increased to 2.71 million tons in April.
