- On May 4th, the top of a crude oil storage tank at a Thai petroleum company was struck by lightning, causing a small-scale fire on the top section of the tank.
- No casualties were reported, and there was no impact on the surrounding community or environment.
- The lightning strike did not affect the structural integrity of the storage tank, nor did it compromise the safety of the production process; the company's refinery continues to operate normally.
