Iran's army: We would open new fronts against US if it resumes war
According to Iran’s Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA), Iran’s army has warned it would “open new fronts” against the United States (US) if it resumes attacks on the country, The Guardian reported.
“If the enemy is foolish enough to fall into the Zionist trap again and launch new aggression against our beloved Iran, we will open new fronts against it, with new equipment and new methods,” army spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia said.
This came after reports that US President Donald Trump is weighing up restarting military operations in Iran amid an impasse in negotiations.
Market reaction
The US Dollar (USD) seems to have extended its intraday upside, following Iran's retaliatory threats if the US resumes the war. As of writing, the US Dollar Index (DXY) trades 0.3% higher to near 99.25.
