Monday, May 25, 2026 – S&P 500 futures opened the final week of May in positive territory, while bitcoin held onto gains above $76. The move comes after a corporate earnings season considered solid by investors on Wall Street.
The S&P 500 was trading at 7.473,47 points, up 0,37%. The Dow Jones was up 0,58%, reaching 50.579,70 points and renewing its all-time highs. The Nasdaq was up 0,19%, trading at 26.343,97 points.
Among the smaller indices, the Russell 2000 rose 0,91% to 2.869,23 points, indicating greater interest in shares of smaller-cap companies. The VIX index, known as a barometer of market volatility, fell 0,36% to 16,70 points.
In the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin (BTC) was trading at US$76.361, up 1,09% in the last 24 hours. Ethereum (ETH) was trading at US$2.093,12, down 1,28%.
Other relevant assets also showed positive movements. BNB advanced 1,24%, quoted at US$ 655,36, while XRP rose 0,70%, trading at US$ 1,35.
Solana (SOL) was up 1,14%, reaching US$85,11. TRON (TRX) was one of the best performing assets of the day, advancing 1,81% and trading at US$0,37.
Among memecoins, dogecoin (DOGE) was down 0,31%, trading at US$0,10. The HYPE token was attracting attention, soaring 10,30% and trading near US$63,28.
The recent performance of cryptocurrencies mirrors the positive movement of US indices, especially those of technology companies linked to artificial intelligence and semiconductors.
On Wednesday, Marvell Technology will release its quarterly figures. The company is projected to see strong growth in its valuation through 2026 following increased demand for AI infrastructure.
Salesforce also publishes results on the same day. The market is watching the company's efforts to expand its presence in the enterprise artificial intelligence segment.
On Thursday, investors will be monitoring earnings reports from Costco Wholesale and Dell Technologies. Retail companies such as Dollar Tree, Best Buy, and Gap will also release their financial results.
In addition to earnings reports, the market is watching new economic indicators from the United States. The Conference Board's consumer confidence index will be released on Tuesday.
On Thursday, the focus will be on the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) index, the main inflation indicator tracked by the Federal Reserve.
In the commodities market, gold was down 0,42%, trading at US$4.523,20. Brent crude oil, on the other hand, was up 0,71%, trading at US$100,21 per barrel.
