On May 27, 2026, Micron Technology and SK Hynix both surpassed a $1 trillion market capitalization on the same trading day. Micron surged by 19.29% on the day, posting the highest gain globally, while SK Hynix followed closely with a 9.31% increase. It is extremely rare in capital market history for two companies to cross the trillion-dollar mark on the same day. Together with Samsung Electronics, which broke the $1 trillion barrier three weeks ago (currently with a market cap of $1.342T), the world’s three largest DRAM manufacturers joined the trillion-dollar club within 21 days. Collectively, the three companies control approximately 97% of the global DRAM market share. The driving force comes from the demand for AI High Bandwidth Memory (HBM). SK Hynix’s 2026 capacity has already been completely sold out, with its latest quarterly revenue at 24.45 trillion KRW, a year-over-year growth of 39%. Micron’s cloud storage business recorded $5.28 billion in quarterly revenue, with a gross margin of 66%. Barclays forecasts that annual infrastructure spending by Western hyperscale data centers and AI labs will exceed $1 trillion over the coming years. To date, there are 14 companies worldwide with a market capitalization above $1 trillion (Walmart dropped to $945.12B today and temporarily exited the club). The 15th is about to arrive: SpaceX is scheduled to go public on Nasdaq on June 12, with Goldman Sachs as lead underwriter, targeting a valuation of $1.75T to $2T. At the highest price target, it would instantly become the third largest publicly traded company in the US, trailing only Nvidia and Apple. From computing power, storage, to satellite connectivity, AI infrastructure is reshaping the list of the world’s most valuable companies.Data source: CompaniesMarketCap.com, as of 2026.5.27 Note: Images are AI-assisted generated

The Decisive Significance of Next Week's U.S. CPI: Will the Federal Reserve Hold Off on Raising Interest Rates in October?

Barclays and Morgan Stanley both expect the month-on-month increase in core CPI for September to slow from 0.29% in August to 0.24%, mainly due to a decline in the price increase of wireless communication services.
