Brazil's basic budget surplus in April exceeds expectations, overall deficit widens, and public debt rises to 80.4% of GDP

- For the 12-month period ending in April, Brazil's basic budget deficit was equivalent to 0.97% of GDP. In April, the total public sector debt accounted for 80.4% of GDP, slightly above the expected 80.3%.
