Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang hints at new hardware announcement in Taipei
Jensen Huang took the stage at the Taipei Music Center as part of the company’s GTC Taipei event during Computex 2026. The Nvidia CEO’s appearance came alongside a flurry of investment commitments that underscore just how central Taiwan has become to Nvidia’s global AI ambitions.
The hardware reveal landed during a period where Nvidia has been aggressively expanding its footprint in the region, with annual spending in Taiwan climbing from $10-15 billion five years ago to a staggering $100 billion today. Nvidia’s yearly Taiwan tab has grown roughly sevenfold in half a decade.
Taiwan as Nvidia’s second home
Beyond the hardware news, Huang used his Taipei visit in late May to drop a significant corporate announcement: Nvidia is building what it calls the “Constellation” campus, designed to serve as the company’s new overseas headquarters.
The facility is slated to open around 2030 and will house approximately 4,000 employees.
Huang indicated that Nvidia aims to push its annual Taiwan investment from $100 billion to $150 billion per year.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) fabricates the vast majority of Nvidia’s cutting-edge chips, and the island’s semiconductor ecosystem remains central to the advanced AI hardware Nvidia needs to produce at scale.
Market reaction and chip stocks
Taiwan chip-related stocks rose following Huang’s expansion announcements in May, reflecting investor optimism about the downstream effects of Nvidia’s spending spree.
Huang’s keynote at the Taipei Music Center on June 1, 2026, scheduled for 11 a.m. local time, was expected to highlight breakthroughs in physical AI and AI infrastructure.

However, this solution costs four times as much as pipeline natural gas and is limited in scale, covering only a small fraction of the project's total capacity.
