Retail Is Still Waiting for a Bull Run Signal — But These 4 Altcoins Are Already Moving as the Next Altseason Has Begun

  • Several mid-cap altcoins are gaining momentum before wider retail participation returns.
  • DeFi, Layer-2, and infrastructure tokens continue attracting market attention.
  • Analysts are watching liquidity rotation from Bitcoin into selected altcoins.

The cryptocurrency market has entered another period of growing speculation as traders search for signs of the next altcoin cycle. Bitcoin has continued holding major support zones in recent weeks, while several alternative cryptocurrencies have quietly posted stronger recoveries. Market observers noted that retail participation remains limited compared to previous bull markets. Search trends, exchange inflows, and social media activity still remain below earlier cycle peaks.

Despite the slower retail activity, some altcoins have already started recording renewed momentum across decentralized finance, Layer-2 scaling, and blockchain infrastructure sectors. Previous cycles also showed that liquidity often rotated into selected altcoins before retail traders fully entered the market. Current market conditions have led investors to closely monitor tokens connected to trading activity, decentralized applications, and network utility as expectations around Altseason 2026 continue building.

Raydium Sees Increased Activity on Solana

Raydium has remained one of the closely watched decentralized exchange tokens during the recent recovery period. Trading activity connected to the Solana ecosystem has increased during the past several months. That activity has supported higher interest in platforms handling liquidity and token swaps. Market analysts observed that Raydium benefited from increased decentralized trading volumes as Solana-based meme coins and smaller tokens returned to focus. The project has also remained connected to broader Solana ecosystem growth.

Ethena Draws Attention From DeFi Traders

Ethena kept building its momentum in the decentralized finance sector. The project gained momentum following the rise in synthetic dollar products and in the amount of activity that went along with the staking of those products. Investors have been more interested in protocols trying to offer yield alternatives in the volatile markets, analysts said. Ethena’s internal status in the DeFi market has catapulted it to the forefront of increased trading interest in recent market rallies.

Curve DAO Benefits From DeFi Recovery

Furthermore, Curve DAO has also made its way back into market talks as the DeFi space has started to improve. In the past few months, the trading volume of stablecoins has risen on several different blockchain networks. That was the reason why Curve kept its stake in the stablecoin liquidity markets. As the overall liquidity environment in DeFi expands and grows better, investors have begun to return to older infrastructure projects, according to analysts.

VeChain and Optimism Continue Building Momentum

As the general discussion around blockchain adoption continued to grow, VeChain was once again on the list of watch items. The network kept expanding its blockchain applications in the supply chain and enterprise landscape. The network remained on the blockchain applications for the supply chain and enterprise. If overall market confidence returns later in the year, the infrastructure-oriented projects may get the attention they deserve again, analysts said.

In the meantime, Optimism kept on enjoying the surge of Layer 2 adoption in the Ethereum Web3 sector. As transaction costs decreased and the use of the blockchain increased, more focus turned to the scaling of networks. Layer-2s are one of the most resilient sectors in the market, as observed in previous recoveries, Layer 2 observers said. Hope has been on the upswing of that larger movement, and the scaling solutions on Ethereum are still gaining momentum.

U.S. budget deficit soars to nearly $2 trillion, exceeding 6% of GDP; high interest rates and tax cuts further worsen the deficit

The US budget deficit for fiscal year 2026 has risen to $1.993 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 12%, marking the highest level since 2021 and projected to account for over 6% of GDP. High interest rates have pushed net interest payments to over $1.1 trillion, accounting for more than half of the deficit increase; lower-than-expected tax and tariff revenues have further worsened the financial shortfall. With just weeks left before the midterm elections, neither party intends to implement substantial fiscal consolidation, and the deficit outlook is highly dependent on the election results.
