The crypto market remains under pressure today, with BTC once dropping to 70,686 USDT and ETH simultaneously breaking below the key $2,000 support. Market risk appetite has clearly cooled. Behind this pullback, bearish signals have emerged simultaneously from institutions, ETFs, and on-chain funds. According to SEC filings, Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) recently sold 32 BTC, marking its first Bitcoin sale since 2022. At the same time, another 411 BTC were transferred to an exchange, drawing market attention to potential further sell-offs. The ETF capital flow continues to deteriorate: • BTC spot ETFs have seen net outflows for 10 consecutive days, with a total outflow of around $2.97 billion. • BlackRock's IBIT saw a single-day net outflow of about $528 million. • ETH spot ETFs have seen net outflows for 13 consecutive days, totaling about $695 million. According to AiCoin data, the current BTC-ahr999 hoarding index stands at 0.5803, hitting a new low in nearly two months and now entering the “dollar-cost averaging zone”. Meanwhile, the Fear and Greed Index (FGI) has dropped to 23, a single-day plunge of 20.69%, pushing market sentiment into an “extreme fear” state. On both chain and derivatives markets, bearish signals are also emerging. Whale “Evaded” has closed BTC long positions, realizing a loss of about $4.83 million, and re-established 940 BTC shorts; the current short position size is approximately $71 million. However, historically, when FGI enters extreme fear and ahr999 enters the dollar cost averaging zone, the market is often near a mid-to-long-term value region. But before ETF capital and large on-chain holders return, there is still a lack of clear right-side signals for a short-term bottom. From a trading perspective, it is more appropriate to wait for a “high volume bottoming + ETF capital inflow” confirmation, rather than blindly shorting or aggressively bottom-fishing. Short-term key levels to watch: • Support areas: 70,686, 69,300 USDT • Resistance areas: 72,000 (EMA30), 72,600 (upper end of range) Trading strategy: • If BTC pulls back to the 70,686–69,300 zone and shows decreasing sell pressure, consider light positions with gradual long entries; • If BTC rebounds to the 72,000–72,600 region and meets resistance with long upper shadows, shorting after right-side confirmation may have higher probability; • True right-side confirmation signals require waiting for ETF to see daily net inflow again, on-chain whales to resume accumulation, and a 4H MACD golden cross resonance.

Update: US Equity Indexes Drop as Sharp Sell-Off in Semiconductor Heavyweights Sinks Technology While Crude Oil Surges

03:39 PM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with index/price moves and geopolitical news from the first paragraph.) US equity indexes fell as a sell-off in semiconductors pushed technology to the bottom of sector charts, while crude oil surged ahead of Thursday's close. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 1.4% to 27,153.2, the S&P 500 declined 0.6% to 7,750.1, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average slid 0.1% to 51,114.6. Energy and consumer staples led gainers. Among stocks with market capitalization exceeding $200 billion, all of the top 10 names were technology companies, and within those, eight were from semiconductor-related industries, according to data compiled by Finviz. The three worst performers in this mega-cap category were Arm (ARM), Intel (INTC), and Oracle (ORCL), down by at least 6.1% each. Meanwhile, tankers are facing a higher risk of attacks and intimidation as they try to get critical shipments through the Strait of Hormuz after Iran issued new warnings that it would block routes that it has not authorized, sources told Reuters. This comes as tropical storm Isaias continues to strengthen ahead of landfall on the northern Gulf Coast by this weekend, CNN reported. The storm rapidly intensified into the Atlantic season's first hurricane on Wednesday night, the news report added. Chevron (CVX) has begun shut-in procedures for production at four Gulf of America facilities and is evacuating workers as Isaias approaches, the company said. Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil contract advanced 3.8% to $91.67 per barrel, and global benchmark Brent jumped 4.3% to $104.51 per barrel even after President Donald Trump reportedly said Thursday that the US will not attack Iran before the mid-term elections in early November while pointing out "productive discussions" with Tehran. The US borrowing costs at Treasury auctions continued to rise on Thursday. An auction of $22 billion of 30-year bonds hit a high yield of 5.618%, up from 5.308% in the previous auction.
