Solana will focus on supporting the development of on-chain perpetual contracts, emphasizing true price discovery and protocol-level revenue feedback.
Foresight News reported that Solana announced it will focus on supporting teams building fully on-chain perpetual contracts (Perps) and other derivatives projects. Solana hopes to see the entire process—including order submission, oracle updates, matching, cancellation, and settlement—completed on-chain. It also emphasized that prices should be discovered through genuine bilateral quotations (such as order books or auction market makers), rather than simply relying on liquidity pool depth. In addition, Solana requires projects to route application revenue back on-chain at the protocol level from launch, rather than only depending on future governance decisions. Beyond perpetual contract protocols themselves, Solana also welcomes supporting infrastructure projects such as front ends, insurance vaults, aggregators, market makers, and structured products.
